So you think you might try starting a home-based business. Well, be prepared for some work. Your parents and probably grandparents as well told you that nothing in life is accomplished without hard work. And if you are thinking of trying the internet marketing business, this adage holds true. Yes it has all the "perks" that the gurus tell you: make your own hours, stay at home, spend more time with you family, take lots of vacations, buy big homes and fancy cars. But none of this comes without effort. There are very few marketing strategies out there promoted by the so called experts, successful internet marketers, that will make you an instant millionaire. The chances of that are about as likely as winning the lottery tonight! Internet marketing takes work, lots of time to set up and establish. It takes hours of research into market niches that you can exploit and promote.
Over the past two years, I have spent thousands of dollars on programs, training programs, website construction, marketing promotions that I purchased from these online "experts" and to date I have not made anything in the way of money that even approaches what was promised. I have spent so much that I came close to losing it all, until I found a legitimate program that told me right up front that if you want to make any serious money marketing online, you have to be prepared to do the research into the products you promote, learn the strategies that lead to success, and spend the time it takes to get all aspects of the marketing business up and running. As a virtual "newbie" (and pardon the pun), I work almost every day two or three hours learning the ropes and I have been doing this for over five months now. So you might think that I must be lacking a considerable level of intellectual prowess. Well, I am a technical services technologist at a community college in Canada and a part time professor with a Masters degree in Education, so I don't consider myself to be stupid. But I have learned that there are so many aspects to this business that I never thought about and some if it is a little jargon heavy and I need to go over it again and again. But I have found a course that is very thorough in its approach and explains in detail what I need to do.
I actually came upon this by searching for a source of information that evaluated these "get rich schemes". One site in particular had checked out 37 different programs/schemes and in the end only two of them were considered legitimate with complete instructions and directions on how to make money through internet marketing. It is one of these two programs that I am now working with. Some of the programs evaluated were actually declared as scams, with little real value in them yet they ask the buyer to spend hundreds of dollars to sign up for virtually nothing. Many of the programs failed the test because they would only give you a part of the whole picture initially and then ask you to purchase another ebook or series of videos, or whatever. I know this to be true because I have been a victim of these schemes in the past.
So enter the internet marketing field with caution and wisdom. My advice to you: buyer beware!
